About Dove Direct
Dove Direct is a privately held, second-generation company with nearly four decades of experience in high-volume mailing operations. Founded in 1987 by Harvey and Joyce Newton and headquartered in Atlanta, GA, we serve government agencies, financial institutions, utilities, and other regulated industries nationwide.
From our earliest days in a family garage, Dove has been built around a single principle: that mission-critical communications demand operational discipline, security-first infrastructure, and a relentless commitment to accuracy. That principle continues to guide everything we do.

Harvey & Joyce Newton, Founders
Our Founders
Built by Harvey & Joyce Newton
Dove Direct was founded in 1987 by Mr. Harvey Newton and Mrs. Joyce Newton — two retirees who decided their careers weren't finished yet.
Harvey came to entrepreneurship after a long career with the United States Postal Service. A U.S. military veteran, he was active in Atlanta during the civil rights movement and brought to Dove a deep, first-hand understanding of how the nation's mail actually moves — and what it takes to move it on time, every time.
Joyce retired from the Internal Revenue Service and brought a complementary discipline: precision with data, an eye for accuracy, and a respect for compliance that has shaped Dove's culture from day one.
Together, in their family garage, they started a small mail operation grounded in operational discipline and personal accountability. Nearly four decades later, those values still define how Dove operates — and the second generation now leads the company forward.
Our History
Four Decades of Continuous Investment
From a garage in 1987 to a 50,000 sq ft production campus today — every decade has added capability without compromising the operational discipline Dove was founded on.
- 1987
Founded in a Garage
Harvey and Joyce Newton start Dove as a small, hand-run mail operation out of their family garage. A handful of clients, mission-critical work, and the operational discipline of two long postal-and-IRS careers behind it.
- 1990s
First Office. First Machines.
Dove moves into a small office and warehouse and begins to mechanize: automated inserting, inkjet addressing, the first mail sorters for automated presort, and a small fleet of vehicles for client mail pickup.
- 2000s
Digital Print and a Permanent Home
Digital print services come online. In 2005, Dove relocates to its current 50,000 sq ft office and warehouse complex on Fulton Industrial Boulevard. Additional sorters, an expanded pickup fleet, and a new in-house data team for digital presort and prepress operations follow.
- 2010s
End-to-End Digital. Compliance-First.
A major investment in an HP Indigo 10000 brings high-end digital print in-house. A full-service bindery department and an in-house software team allow Dove to deliver end-to-end digital programs. A high-speed intelligent inserter guarantees package integrity on every job. HIPAA and PCI compliance become a structural part of the operation.
- 2020s
Relentless Automation
An HP Indigo 120K digital press, brand-new flat and letter sorters, and a second EVO inserter add capacity and capability. A dedicated security and IT operations team holds the line on SOC 2 and NIST CSF. The software team builds custom workflow systems for production tracking, automated reporting, and complex client data handling.
- 2026
The Vision Completed
Allan Newton, CEO, completes his father's vision of owning the entire production cycle by acquiring a W+D 628 envelope converter. With envelope manufacturing brought in-house, the full mail ecosystem now lives under one roof — client data arrives at one end of the building, and sealed, addressed envelopes leave the other end in a USPS trailer.
Vertically Integrated Under One Roof
Today, Dove produces the entire mail ecosystem in a single 50,000 sq ft facility in Atlanta — from data ingest and digital print through inserting, presort, and now envelope manufacturing on the W+D 628. Client data arrives, and sealed envelopes leave. Nothing moves through a third party. Nothing is out of our control.
